The Brazilian Amazon 2024 – Time To Go Fishing!
Flight to Barcelos
Excellent flight, everything went very smoothly, to say the “machine was well oiled” would be an understatement. Great photo opportunities during the flight in- between the clouds and rain which made for dramatic views

Underwater “sand glyphs,” I just made up this terminology, like petroglyphs or geoglyphs, better artwork than any politicians son could do, nobody beats Mother Nature
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4900″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]
Transfer to the plane was also as smooth as it could go as the team made sure everyone’s luggage was secure and made it to the mothership unscathed.
This is a terrific added value to the clients as we hate to be nickel & dimed once there, this is one of the most unbelievable perks offered
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

What do expect? We are with Billy Chapman Jr. doing it the Anglers Inn International way
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
Orientation
First Day, this is the most hectic day, but in an effective and safe way. You can feel the excitement of the guests, as we all feel the same adrenaline rush of visiting a new place. The enthusiasm of everyone is contagious and makes for a nice transition to launch the trip
Making sure everyone is well prepared and knows what to expect for the rest of the trip is of upmost importance
The addition of laundry being done every day is a nice touch, which was really impressive!
Now you can come with one backpack with just your clothes, no extra baggage charges with the airlines, plus you cut back on time,
space plus hauling it all around the world from hotel to airport, to truck to the mothership & back, ugh! The crew takes care of you and your luggage from the Hotel and back, but you are on your own the rest of the trip, so pack light
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4915″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
Equipment, Guides & Boats
All of the equipment is top notch and first class all the way. Right down to the 4X strong hooks rigged on every lure, we use ABU Garcia reels exclusively, Berkley Line & Lures matched with St. Croix top of the line rods is hard to beat, yes, they are included, so leave your rod tubes, heavy tackle boxes and tools home, but do bring along a handful of your favorite lures to try IF not we have you covered
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4917″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Need a rod & reel, no problem! Rigged & Ready, Always!
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4924″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Each boat has a set of rods, tackle boxes filled with the finest lures known to man, all of them are tested and proven winners, for every angler, spinning, fly or baitcasting we have you covered
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4928″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Everyone wants to win this, but unlike other sports today, everyone does NOT get a participation trophy, you have to earn it in The Amazon
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4929″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Shhh, I am fishin’ for Peacocks, as a stealthy approach is necessary at times while at other times they attack with reckless abandon
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4932″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
The boats and equipment are all well maintained, comfortable and rigged out, not to mention they all have SPOT locator systems, so you can be assured you are completely safe even in the rare case of a breakdown, we know where you are at all times
Every guide was very competent and has their own incredibly unique fishing skills. While I did not fish with all of them, they are safe, knew how to run their boat, where the quarry lived, be it Peacock’s, Giant Catfish, Arapaima, Piranha or Dogfish and how to catch them
Like most places in the world the language barrier makes things a little more difficult to communicate on the water. We have both guides and clients download the Translator app for basic communication in the boat. There is now Starlink on the mothership, use it to your advantage `
to stay in touch if you need to and it makes life easier for the waiters, guides, and clients all at the same time.
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4933″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Pouring rain and you want a grilled fish dinner, no problem, just break out the propane grill, get your friend to hold an umbrella over the grill & you, then enjoy some Tambaqui ribs
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
Luau & Shore Lunch
From the first knock at your door at 6:15 AM with coffee, juice, or tea in their hand until the last cocktail is poured at Midnight both Mario (Flash) & Smiley were great waiters and put in 16-hour days with a smile on their face breakfast, lunch & dinner
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4935″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
The guides set up a beautiful shore lunch under the trees on a white sand beach in the Jungle, want a drink?
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4936″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
The crew & staff are the hardest working people you will ever meet always with a terrific disposition
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4940″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Luau dinner night, perfect setting on one of the most beautiful white sand beaches I have ever seen anywhere in the world, period!
Just to clarify, I lived in Florida for 15 years, been to the Islands, Hawaii, Australia, French Riviera, Itay, Africa, Coast Rica, Panama etc… none and I mean none, are any better than this, in fact, this IS better, because there is no litter, no noise, no people, nothing man made here but the boats and your fishing partner
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4939″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
As the sun sets the ambiance of our dinner setting is provided to us by mother nature
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4941″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Pristine Beach………….in the jungle, absolutely amazing!
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
As I strolled the beach looking for any animals tracks to see who was roaming around there at night
It is said that butterflies come to the beach during the day to extract the salt from urine & scat from jungle cats like Jaguars I did find scat & urine stains therefore I found the butterflies on this secluded beach
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”4943″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Sky, Tree line, River, Sand all coming together to form an absolutely picturesque scene
Brightly colored yellow, as well as lime green butterflies, demonstrating the exploitation of every mineral or food source nature can think of even from pee & poop
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4944″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
This one found the motherload of urine salt from some type of cat and is busy extracting the salt
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4945″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
A fresh urine spot, there should be lots of salt here
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space height=”132px”][vc_single_image image=”4947″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4952″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Moving some floating grass so Lord III can anchor up to go for a hike to the Indian village if you look closely the Chief is hanging from the bow of the boat clearing out the grass himself
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4953″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Sunset over the Rio Negro River, it is absolutely virgin wilderness here, you see nothing man made, wires, airplanes, lights NOTHING
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4954″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]

“Alone at last Peace, Quiet & Tranquility” – that is what this boat is thinking
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4960″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
The Chef is world class, period, and I have had the pleasure to eat in some of the finest restaurants from NY to Tokyo, Paris to Rome, Cairnes to Johannesburg even St. Petersburg Russia and I assure you no one is any better than he is. They catered to my special diet with every meal, so they can cover Vegan, Vegetarians to Pescatarians,’ like me, meat lovers do not have to worry either, how about Lamb Chops & Brazilian beef which melts in your mouth……….. on the beach!
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
Ok, OK, I want to see the fish as well…….
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”4961″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
There are many of these Lagoons to fish, just endless, and most if not all hold fish as there over 2000 species of fish that swim here
Some many fish, not enough time…………..
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4963″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Chop, Chop, Chop work the Woodchopper as a team & one of you will get the big one, at times both the male & female was caught from the same hole as they were in pre-spawn mode some even started to spawn
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4964″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Popcorn Peacock, the smallest of the Peacock family, but no less as beautiful than any of the 4 other main species, out of the 7, we fished for here
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4966″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Topwater Nirvana, “Here we go now…. it’s contagious”!
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4967″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Dogfish, Tahira or a small Wolffish, call it what you will but keep your fingers away from their mouth or you will lose one
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4968″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
My first big Speckled Peacock also called Azul or Blue locally, look at her glowing in the Amazon sunset, they look fake, due to their brilliant colors which only Mother nature can only provide
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4969″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
My first big Bar Peacock, some are very dark, while others are lit up like Times Square on New Year’s Eve
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”4970″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Grande Bar Peacock, the Bar is one of the largest Peacocks you will catch on this trip
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”4971″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Here is another Bar Peacock, this one is a little lighter in color
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”4975″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Duh!, what just happened? Look at my expression, it engulfed my lure, which is what just happened! I was fortunate to catch 4 giants’ out of the same honey hole all were close to the same size 15 to 18 pounds
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”4974″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Look what we found, if you only knew just how many big bass I caught here on this grass island in the middle of the Lagoon, as I was fortunate to have fished alone that day
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4981″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
Pirarucu, (Arapaima) breathing air and showing us where they are. Very spooky, finicky fish but they sure are great eating & huge
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4982″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
When it rains they go absolutely nuts on topwater lures, this type of fishing is an adrenaline rush and not for the faint of heart, even when they boil and miss the lure, it is still exciting
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4984″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4985″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][vc_column_text]
